Emergency Page!
Help! I can't edit my book anymore!
Please note:
1. You already MUST join www.bookcrossing.com and particularly be logged in!! Otherwise, you will receive an error message from BookCrossing.com!
2.
You solely can edit those books, which you have registered.
If you try to edit books registered by others, you will get an error message from BookCrossing.com.
Use this emergency page on your own responsibility!
Every BookCrossingbook has a BCID. The BCID has two parts: a 3-digit number (left) as also a x-digit number (right), whereby the x could be up to 9 digits. Both numbers are seperated by a dash. The number at the right side of this dash, also called the books journalnumber, has to be entered here:
By the way, if you get this after submitting:
then it does mean, that either you are not logged in, or the number of the BCID is wrong
or that the book was not registered by you :)
Also, if you are automaticly logged off from the BookCrossing.com system while deleting a book, maybe the work-around from our fellow bookcrossingmember
blue-book
may help:
1. you go on your shelf and looks in your lists for the book, which you would like to delete
2. you use the link "edit book details" from this list
(DO NOT call the book first and then deleting it. This is what kicks you out of the system!)
3. You use now the button "Delete"
and
4. Your book is deleted!
Remember: books can only be deleted, when you have registered it and(!) if the book doesn't have journals written by others than you! Furthermore, instead of deleting a book, you always can replace the data of the book with other values, so we don't lose the BCID! (Yes, BCIDs of deleted books will not be reused ever!)
